Seasonal Reflections & Looking Ahead to 2026
16th Dec 2025
As 2025 draws to a close, we want to take a moment to thank everyone who has been part of Equality Action this year. This winter edition brings together wellbeing support, festive reflections from our team, important service updates and a look ahead to our Annual Public Lecture in February 2026!
Save the Date: Annual Public Lecture
We’re pleased to share an early save the date for our Annual Public Lecture, taking place on 25 February 2026 at Loughborough University. This year’s lecture will explore youth online behaviour, digital influences, mental health and the realities of growing up in an always-connected world. We’ll be joined by a key speaker and a guest panel, bringing together perspectives from education, youth work, mental health and lived experience. More details, including speakers and booking information, will be shared in the new year.

Winter Wellbeing
Winter can be a challenging time for many people. Shorter days, colder weather and financial pressures can all take their toll on wellbeing. A few gentle reminders as we move through the season: Stay connected where you can; a short conversation can make a big difference Try to get some daylight each day, even a brief walk Be kind to yourself and take things at your own pace Remember that support is available if things feel overwhelming Our work continues year-round to provide safe, culturally sensitive spaces for people to talk, connect and access support.
Zee's Festive Thoughts
Something I enjoy about this season: Cosy evenings with warm drinks, festive TV and crochet.
A winter wellbeing tip: A short, brisk walk in daylight to boost energy and help keep the winter blues away.
My proudest moment this year: Seeing candidates access therapy and other support to support their personal growth.
A message to our community: Take care of yourselves. We are all doing our best.
Matthew's Festive Thoughts
Something I enjoy about this season: Walks on cold, dry, crisp winter mornings.
A winter wellbeing tip: Bring the warmth, every day, tell someone close to you that you love them.
My proudest moment this year: Helping the organisation save £440 a year on gas and electricity.
A message to our community: At Christmas, Christians are reminded that “God is with us”. I pray that, no matter what you are facing, you will know that God is with you.
A Final Message
As 2025 comes to a close, we want to say a heartfelt thank you. Thank you to our staff, who continue to show care, patience and dedication every day. Thank you to our trustees for their guidance and dedication. Thank you to our partners, funders, volunteers and community members who support, challenge and walk alongside us. Your involvement helps Equality Action continue to be here for those who need us most. As we look ahead to the new year, we warmly welcome anyone who feels passionate about community, equality and inclusion to get involved with our work. We wish you a restful end to the year and look forward to reconnecting in 2026.
