LOUGHBOROUGH MELA RETURNS WITH A JAM-PACKED DAY OF FUN, FOOD, MUSIC AND DANCE

Every year many hundreds of people flock to Loughborough Town Centre to experience the sights, sounds and tastes of the celebrated Loughborough Mela.

This hugely successful multicultural event hosts a wide range of food, stalls, children’s activities, local fairground rides and a diverse entertainment programme to ensure that there is something for everyone.

The town's many and varied communities will be coming together to celebrate this year's event on Sunday August 19th in Loughborough Town Centre between 12 noon and 5.00pm.

Artists performing at this year's event include dancers and performers from EMCCAN, Kadam Verma (Bollywood singer), Amith Dey (Bangladeshi singer), R&R Productions (Bollywood dance group), MEET Mer Maniyaro Ensemble (Gujarati dance group), Dhamak Punjabana Di Giddha & Bhangra Group, Euphoria China Arts (Chinese instrumental), D E A DHOL and many more local talented performers.

Loughborough Mela is a great example of harmony in our community, where people from diverse cultural backgrounds come together to celebrate. The whole day is free, living up to its promise of being fun for the whole family.

The Loughborough Mela is a partnership event organised by Equality Action, Charnwood Arts, John Storer Charnwood and local community groups and individuals with support from Charnwood Borough Council and Arts Council England.

 

Experience the 2018 Loughborough Mela at Loughborough Town Centre on Sunday August 19th between 12 noon and 5.00pm.

Please note that the area from Cattle Market, Market Street and Market Place is closed to regular traffic on the day.
